Documentation of the Performance

Tinder VR was a memetic performance done in public spaces around New York that played on the contemporary anxieties surrounding new technologies and intimacy at that time. Pushing the narrative of digital dating into new spheres generated a satirical potential future in which the subjects completely seclude themselves from ‘real life’ intimacy to pursue virtual intimacy exclusively, all the while being in lively public spaces. The performance captured the eye of hundreds of bypasses, followed by millions online as it was organically posted and shared.
